Game one saw Lemoyne Owens jump out to an early 2 run lead in the top of the 1st inning off the bat of a Magician's homerun. However, the Lynx quickly answered back scoring a total of 12 in a game that was called after 4 innings due to agreed upon mercy rules.
The offensive star for the Lynx in game one was sophomore first baseman,
Desiree Buie, who hit a towering grand slam in the second inning to break the game wide open. Defensively, senior pitcher
Chelsea Peters, who celebrated her birthday today, earned her second win of the season.
Game two saw a revampled lineup take the field for Rhodes as "game experience" is at a premium with conference play beginning this weekend. Despite the many new faces in the lineup for the Lynx, sophomore hurler
Jessica Becher proved to be a constant, pitching her first collegiate no-hitter. The Magician pushed 2 runs across on the back of 2 Rhodes' errors but Becher never surrendered a base hit. Rhodes plated 12 in 4 innings before game two was also halted due to mercy rules in place.
The two game sweep improves the Lynx' record to 8-7-1 on the season.
Rhodes will play host to Sewanee this Saturday and Sunday marking the beginning of conference play.
