The Rhodes College Baseball kicked the 2012 season off this afternoon with a 13-1 home victory over LeMoyne-Owen College. The Lynx offense started out slow, but was able to overcome an early 1-0 deficit, with a single run in the bottom of the fourth, 7 in the fifth, and five in sixth before the mercy rule was enacted in the bottom of the seventh.
The Rhodes pitching staff was dominate all day, allowing 2 hits, 3 walks, struck out 14, and allowed 1 unearned run. Junior RHP

The Lynx offense only totaled 4 hits on the day, but took advantage of 15 walks, 3 hit batters, and 4 errors to put the game out of reach. Sophomore OF
Josh Berkey paced the Lynx offense going 2-3 with a double, run scored, 3 RBIs, walked once, and stole a base. Sophomore 2B
Stewart Martens was 1-3 on the day with an RBI, run scored, and walked once. Senior OF
