Rhodes needed regulation plus five minutes to claim victory on Friday, January 20th against the Hendrix College Warriors.  The Lynx needed and got a defensive stop after a layup by Junior Andrew Galow tied the game with :33 seconds remaining.  In overtime, a three-point basket by Senior forward Kory Kilpatrick put the Lynx up two and Rhodes went on to defeat the Warriors, 60 to 56.

The Lynx struggled through the first twenty minutes Friday, allowing Hendrix to shoot a season-high 65% in the first half.  Rhodes trailed Hendrix by ten at halftime - 33 to 23.

With 13:36 remaining, the Warriors grabbed a fourteen point lead, their biggest of the night (44 - 30).  From that point forward, the Lynx would relie on their defense and the offense of team captain Andrew Galow.  Galow went on a 10 - 0 run to pull the Lynx within four, and scored fifteen of the teams next 18 points.  Galow finished the night with a game-high 25 points, to go along with 6 assists and 3 rebounds.

Defensively, the Lynx cracked down and only gave up six points over the last 13:36 to keep them in the game.  Rhodes consistently held the Warriors to tough contested jump shots, while Hendrix found themselves late in the shot clock.  As a result, the Lynx limited Hendrix to 28% shooting in the second half.

In overtime, a big three-pointer from Kory Kilpatrick gave Rhodes a two point lead, 53 to 51 with three minutes remaining.  Kilpatrick notched a double-double on the evening with 13 points and 10 rebounds.  From that point, the Lynx made five of six free throws to secure the victory.

The win moves the Lynx to 11-6 overall and 6-2 in the SCAC.  Rhodes will host an alumni game tomorrow at 2pm, and then face off against conference foe Colorado College on Sunday at 1pm.
