On a soggy, rainy afternoon, Rhodes Softball swept a pair of games from MacMurray, by scores of 11-2 and 15-7, with both games called after 5 innings as a result of the mercy rule.
Chelsea Peters picked up her first win of the season in game 1, while
Allison Conn paced the offense with 2 hits. In game 2, the Highlanders scored 4 unearned runs off of freshman Jessica Becher in the 4th inning to tie the game at 7, but Rhodes answered with 7 runs in the bottom of the inning and cruised to the 15-7 win.
Sara Bowen picked up her 4th win of the season in relief, while senior
Cindy Bitters was a perfect 3 for 3 with 2 RBI at the plate. Rhodes is 6-2 on the season, and will play Millikin at 1:30pm on Friday, then host Westminster, Berry, Greenville, and Eureka for the Ci Ci's Pizza Classic on Saturday and Sunday.
