Rhodes got no-hitters from Cindy Bitters and Sara Bowen, and 5 different players homered this afternoon as the Lynx swept a pair of games from Blackburn by scores of 8-0 and 8-0.  For Bitters, who improved to 2-0, it was the first no-hitter of her career, while Bowen improved to 4-2 en route to the 5th no-hitter of her career.  Kelli Zomer, Allison Conn, Rebekah Moore, Olivia Ryan and Bowen each had home runs to lead the Lynx offense.

After Allison Conn drew a 2 out walk in the first inning of game 1, Moore delivered her big blast to left center to give the Lynx a 2-0 lead after 1 inning of play.  Armanda Venezia and Ryan singled in the second, and later in the inning, with 2 outs, Zomer laced a 3-run home run to left center to give the Lynx a 5-0 lead after 2 innings.

Zomer doubled to lead off the 4th and came around to score on an RBI groundout by Conn to make it 6-0 after 4 innings, and Jennifer Whatley and Zomer had RBI singles in the 5th to give the Lynx the 8-0 mercy-rule win.

Bitters, in her 3rd start after off-season elbow surgery, walked 5 and struck out 9 en route to the first no-hitter of her career, and improved to 2-0 on the season.

After Zomer led off game 2 with a walk, Conn hit her first home run of the season to give the Lynx a 2-0 lead after 1 inning.  Suna doubled to lead off the second and set the stage for Ryan's long ball, a 2-run shot to left center that extended the Rhodes lead to 4-0.

Bowen led off the 3rd with a solo home run, making it 5-0 after 3 innings, and the Lynx would add 2 more in the 4th on an RBI single from Megan Matthews and a sacrifice fly from Allison Conn to make it 7-0.

Elise Suna led off the 5th with a double, and after walks to Carly Evans and Chelsea Peters, freshman Angie Rice delivered the first hit of her college career, an RBI single to left to score Suna and give the Lynx another 8-0 mercy-rule win.

In tossing the 5th no-hitter of her career, Bowen walked 4 and struck out 11, improving to 4-2 on the season.  The Lynx are now 12-4 on the season and will play Sunday at 11am vs. FInlandia in Cocoa Beach, FL.
