After dropping the first game of the day to Emory by a score of 7-1, Rhodes rallied in game 2 and cruised to an 8-0 victory over SCAC rival Hendrix.  Rhodes sent 9 hitters to the plate in the first inning, scoring 5 runs and never looked back.  Sophomore Chelsea Peters tossed a 2-hit shutout, her second shutout of the weekend, while Kelli Zomer was 3 for 4 with a home run and Sara Bowen was 1 for 4 with a grand slam.

In game 1, Rhodes could not get the bats going, managing only 3 hits against Emory starter Jamie Melson.  Emory scored 7 runs in the first 4 innings to take a commanding 7-0 lead.  Rhodes' lone run came in the 6th, when Megan Matthews doubled and later scored on a sacrifice fly from Rebekah Moore.

In the second game, the Lynx came out swinging against SCAC rival Hendrix in a non-conference game.  Kelli Zomer led the game off with her first home run of the season, followed by a single to left center from Matthews.  Allison Conn then beat out a bunt for a single, and Rebekah Moore reached on an error to load the bases with no outs.  Sara Bowen laced the first pitch over the left field wall for a grand slam to give the Lynx a 5-0 lead just 5-hitters into the game.

Rhodes picked up 2 more runs in the 4th on an RBI single from Zomer and an RBI double from Conn, and scored the final run in the 6th when Conn singled in Zomer to make it 8-0 and end the game.  Zomer and Conn each finished the game 3 for 4 with 2 RBI, while Matthews had 2 hits to go along with Bowen's grand slam to pace the Lynx offense.

Peters picked up her second win, and second shutout, of the weekend, giving up just 2 hits and striking out 4.  Rhodes is 4-4 on the season and will host the Rhodes College Spring Classic next weekend, featuring Millikin University, Berry College, and Lagrange College.
