The Rhodes College Baseball team defeated Emory University 5-3 this afternoon in Atlanta, GA in their first game of the Rawlings Classic.  The Lynx over came an early 1-0 deficit with a four run fourth en route to 5-3 victory.  Sophomore Austin Carden picked up his second victory of the year, as junior Hunter Chandler picked up his second save of the season.  Rhodes is now 6-1 on the year.

Carden worked the first five innings allowing 6 hits, 3 runs, 2 earned runs, walked 1 and struck out 5.  Carden is now 2-1 on the year.  Chandler relieved Carden in the top of the 6th and worked the final 4 innings.  Chandler allowed 2 hits, no runs, and struck out 3 on his way to his second save.

The Lynx offense was paced by junior CF Andy Meier who was 2-5 with 2 doubles and scored a run.  Junior 1B Brogan Jayne was 2-5 with a run scored.  Senior Brooks Royer was 1-3 with an RBI.

The Lynx will return to action tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 against LaGrange College in their second game of the Rawlings Classic.
