Lynx Take Game 2 against Huntingdon

The Rhodes Baseball team took the second game of their double header against Huntingdon 11-9.  Junior Matt Ungashick picked up victory for the Lynx and Max Gertz picked up his first save of the season.  Junior Austin Marcum broke the game open in the top of the eighth with a pinch hit 2 RBI double to put the Lynx up 10-7.  The Lynx are now 1-1 on the season. 

Junior Taylor Babich worked the first 4.1 innings allowing 6 runs, 5 earned, 5 hits, 1 strikeout and walked one.  Junior Hunter Chandler threw 2 innings, allowed 2 hits, 1 run, struck out 2 and walked one.  Matt Ungashick worked 1.2 enroute to his first victory of the season.  Ungashick allowed 2 hits, one run, and struck out one.  Senior Max Gertz finished off the ninth, picking up his first save of the season.

Sophomore OF Travis Perkins went 2-4 with a double, two runs scored, and drove in a run.  Junior OF Brent Lindsey went 3-6 with a double, 3 RBIs, and scored 2 runs.  Junior 3B Kyle Peterson went 2-4 with a walk, and a run scored.  Freshman SS Lynden Pindling went 3-4 with 2 runs scored.   Freshman 2B Nick Belisle went 2-6 with 2 RBIs.

Rhodes will take on CBU on Wednesday at home at 2:00 before heading to Pineville, LA for a three game set with Louisiana College this weekend.
