The Rhodes women's soccer team fought back from a 2 goal deficit at half time to beat NCAA DII cross-town rival Christian Brothers University by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday, October 30, 2007.

The Lynx fell behind in the 24th minute when CBU's Courtney Robertson knocked in cross from Rachel Longley.  The Lady Bucs widened their lead in the 30th minute when Samantha de Melo and Francesca DeRanzo assisted Kristi Ansboury to give CBU a 2 goal lead which stood until halftime.

Rhodes battled back and got on the board in the 66th minute when junior forward Kara Purdy headed in a cross from sophomore defender Colleen Callaghan

In the 80th minute freshman forward Bailey Morgan tied the scored when senior midfielder Caroline Voelkel dribbled deep into the penalty area and slotted the ball to Morgan who chipped the keeper from just inside the 18 yard box.

Just over a minute later Purdy scored the Lynx' game-winner when she headed in her second goal of the game, this time the cross came from junior forward Jessie Cassidy.

Voelkel would add an insurance goal in the 85th minute when she collected a pass from junior defender Katy Joyner behind the Bucs defense and played the ball past the CBU goal keeper.

Rhodes improves to 11-6-1 and will finish the 2007 season at home on Friday, November 2, 2007 at 1:00pm against the Kangaroos of Austin College.  The Lynx will also bid farewell to seniors Caroline Voelkel and Kendra McColloch during halftime of the men's game against Austin which is scheduled to follow the women's game at 3:00pm.
