Rhodes College Athletics

Chelsea Temple is from North Richland Hills, TX, and attended Keller High School before coming to Rhodes.  She is the daughter of Becky and Steve Temple.  In high school, Temple was a UIL 5A Regional Qualifier for 2009, 2010, and 2011 for Track and Field.  She was also a UIL 5A Regional Qualifier in 2009 for Cross Country.  Temple was also named Second Team All-District in 2010 for Cross Country.  In high school away from athletics, she was a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta.  She was also a Collegeboard AP Scholar, a DAP Candidate, and a Duke TIP Scholar.  In college, Temple was the recipient of the First Year/ Sophomore Seidman Award in Economics in 2011 and 2012.  She was a recipient of the Best Advanced-Level Student of Spanish in 2012 and 2013.  Temple was also awarded the Outstanding Work in Advanced Spanish Courses in 2014.  She has been on the Honor Roll her Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior years at Rhodes.  She was on the SCAC Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll for the Spring Semester of 2012.  She was then on the SAA Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll for the Spring Semester of 2013 and the Spring Semester of 2014.  On the track, Temple was a SCAC Conference Champion in 2012, and she was on the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team.  Temple has been an SAA Conference Champion for the Spring of 2013 and the Spring of 2014.  During both of those seasons, she was also on the SAA All-Conference First Team.  She was a NCAA DIII National Qualifier for Track and Field in 2012 and 2013.  In 2012, she was a NCAA DIII National All-American for the 4x100m Relay.  Temple is also a holder of the school record for the 4x100m, 4x400, and 4x800m relays.  Away from the track, Temple has served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee from Fall 2011 until the Spring of 2013.  She is also an active member of Tuesday Fellowship.  Temple is pursuing a major in Economics and a minor in Spanish.
