Rhodes College Athletics

Mariko Krause is the daughter of Atsuko Sakai and Richard Krause and is from Somerset, KY.  She attended Somerset High School.  As a high school freshman, she was presented the Shirley Smith Athletic Award, made an appearance in the State Track & Field Meet, and was in the Class A State Basketball Tournament.  Her junior year of high school, she made another appearance in the Class A Track and Field meet.  She was selected for the All-County Basketball Team and the All-Star Basketball Team of the Twelfth Region.  She was also selected to play with the KY Premier AAU Basketball Team.  Finally, her senior year she made her third appearance in the Track and Field State Meet and was again in the Class A state Basketball Tournament.  In college, Krause is pursuing a major in Neuroscience.  She is an RSAP, and a member of GlobeMed.  She is also an active member of Chi Omega Fraternity.
