Rhodes College Athletics

Courtney is a junior from Alpharetta, Georgia. She is majoring in International Studies and minoring in German, French and Political Science. In high school she attained a 4.0 GPA (top five in her graduating class), was a National Merit Scholarship Quarterfinalist, won third place in the National French Contest (Le Grand Concours), was a member of the French National Honor Society, Beta Club, Flood student Missions, Whiz Kids tutor Program, Model United Nations (founding member), USTA junior tournament player (ranking number 42 in Georgia, 166 in the South), was Karen Handel’s intern during her campaign for Governor, a host for the Lycée La Perverie Sacré-Cœur Exchange Program, and was a part of an exchange student program to Nantes in 2011. Her parents are Keith and Julie Hornsby. Since coming to Rhodes, Courtney has earned the Mertie Buckman International Internship (2014), the Outstanding Student in Third Year French Award (2013), is a part of the Buckman Fellowship for Study Abroad, has made the Honor Roll every year, and was awarded the Delta Psi New Member Academic Award in 2011. When not playing for the Lynx, Courtney is an active participant in Literacy Midsouth, Modus Vivendi, American Freedom Institute Conference, Refugee Empowerment Program, Rhodes Rebuilds, and Delta Delta Delta. After graduation, Courtney plans on working for asylum NGO in human rights law.
