Game Recap: Rhodes vs. DePauw University
The Rhodes College field hockey team earned a 3-0 shutout victory over DePauw on September 26 at S Page Cotton Field in Greencastle, Ind. The Lynx improved to 7-1 on the season with the win.
Key Performances
Alder Dickey led the Rhodes offense with two goals, scoring at 22:55 with an assist from Zoë Dzialowski before adding an unassisted goal at 55:27. Bella Spina also found the back of the cage at 47:15, assisted by Meredith Dunn.
Rhodes finished with a 22-5 advantage in shots, including a 13-2 edge in shots on goal. The Lynx also held an 8-3 advantage in penalty corners and recorded two saves defensively.
Game Highlights
Dickey opened the scoring late in the second quarter to give Rhodes a 1-0 lead heading into halftime. Spina doubled the advantage early in the third quarter before Dickey added her second goal of the afternoon to make it 3-0.
The Rhodes defense held DePauw scoreless throughout the contest, limiting the Tigers to just five total shots and two shots on goal. The shutout marked another strong defensive performance for the Lynx.
Rhodes controlled the offensive opportunities throughout the match, outshooting DePauw 22-5 and earning eight penalty corners.
