Game Recap: Rhodes vs. Belhaven University
The Rhodes College women's soccer team continued its perfect start to the 2026 season with a 3-0 shutout victory over Belhaven on Sept. 15 at Rhodes Soccer Field in Memphis, Tenn. The Lynx improved to 5-0-0 on the season after scoring all three of their goals in the opening half and holding Belhaven to just one shot.
Rhodes took control early, with
Ella Mullally opening the scoring in the 22nd minute off an assist from
Lina Kilgore. Mullally struck again just over six minutes later, this time assisted by
Kyleigh Wilson, to give the Lynx a 2-0 advantage.
Audrey Rush added Rhodes' third goal in the 39th minute off an assist from
Kat Stanley.
Key Performances
Mullally led the Rhodes attack with two goals, continuing her impressive start to the season. Her two goals came in the 22nd and 28th minutes, giving her six goals on the season.
Kilgore and Wilson each recorded an assist on Mullally's goals, while Rush added a goal of her own off Stanley's assist.
Rhodes' defense delivered another dominant performance, limiting Belhaven to just one shot and one shot on goal. The Lynx allowed no goals and recorded the team's fifth consecutive victory to open the season.
Game Highlights
Rhodes controlled the match offensively, outshooting Belhaven 28-1 and holding a 15-1 advantage in shots on goal. The Lynx also earned 10 corner kicks while Belhaven did not record a corner.
The Lynx scored three times in a 17-minute span during the first half. Mullally opened the scoring in the 22nd minute before adding her second goal in the 28th minute. Rush then extended the lead to 3-0 in the 39th minute.
Rhodes maintained its defensive pressure throughout the second half, holding Belhaven without a shot after halftime to preserve the shutout.
With the victory, Rhodes improves to 5-0-0 on the season.
