Volleyball Goes 3-1 in Rhodes Classic

Game Recap: Rhodes vs. University of the Ozarks

The Rhodes College volleyball team continued its strong start to the 2026 season with a 3-0 sweep of the University of the Ozarks on Sept. 11 at Mallory Gymnasium in Memphis, Tenn. The Lynx improved to 4-1 on the season after taking all three sets by scores of 25-21, 25-14 and 25-18.

Key Performances

Yzzi Dsamou led Rhodes with seven kills, while Meg Gebhart and Ashley Adams each added six kills. The Lynx finished the match with 44 kills and a .308 hitting percentage.

Emma Clark and Luca Prest shared the setting duties, recording 18 assists apiece. Gebhart added two assists to help Rhodes finish with 42 total assists.

Olivia Wiseman and Emma Clark led the defensive effort with nine and eight digs, respectively, while Chloe Davis also recorded eight digs. Wiseman and Clark helped Rhodes finish with 50 digs as a team.

At the net, Anna Satterfield and Adams each recorded two blocks, while Rachel Clarke added one block. Rhodes finished with four total blocks.

Game Highlights

Rhodes took control early, hitting .375 in the opening set while earning a 25-21 victory. The Lynx then dominated the second set, hitting .222 and limiting Ozarks to a -.040 hitting percentage in a 25-14 win.

Rhodes closed out the sweep with a 25-18 third-set victory, hitting .333 in the final frame. The Lynx finished the match with advantages in kills, 44-25; aces, 10-7; blocks, 4-2; assists, 42-24; and digs, 50-42.

Wiseman and Clark each recorded three service aces to lead Rhodes' 10-ace performance, while Gebhart added two.


Game Recap: Rhodes vs. University of Mary Hardin-Baylor

In a thrilling five-set battle at Mallory Gymnasium, the Rhodes College volleyball team rallied past Mary Hardin-Baylor, 3-2, on Sept. 11 in Memphis, Tenn. The Lynx improved to 5-1 on the season after overcoming a 2-1 deficit and winning the decisive fifth set, 18-16.

Rhodes opened the match with a hard-fought 25-23 victory before edging Mary Hardin-Baylor 26-24 in the second set. After the Crusaders answered with wins in the third and fourth sets, Rhodes responded in the deciding frame, earning an 18-16 victory to complete the comeback.

Key Performances

Yzzi Dsamou led the Lynx offensively with a match-high 16 kills, while Anna Satterfield added 12 kills and Caroline Short contributed 10. Rhodes finished with 61 kills against a Mary Hardin-Baylor defense that recorded 11 blocks.

Emma Clark paced the Rhodes offense with 28 assists, while Luca Prest added 15 assists and Olivia Wiseman contributed nine.

Wiseman also delivered a standout defensive performance, recording a team-high 28 digs. Short added 13 digs, while Clark finished with 12 as Rhodes collected 82 digs as a team.

Rachel Clarke anchored the net defense with six blocks, while Dsamou and Chloe Dunnigan each added four blocks. Dsamou's four blocks came alongside her team-high 16 kills.

Game Highlights

Rhodes showed its resilience throughout the five-set battle, winning the opening two sets before Mary Hardin-Baylor responded with victories in the third and fourth sets. The Lynx then held off the Crusaders in the decisive fifth set, 18-16, to secure the comeback victory.

The Lynx finished with 61 kills, eight service aces, nine blocks, 53 assists and 82 digs. Rhodes also received three aces apiece from Wiseman, Gebhart and Short.

The victory marked a strong test for the Lynx against a Mary Hardin-Baylor squad that entered the match with a 7-2 record. Rhodes' five-set triumph moved the Lynx to 5-1 on the season.


Game Recap: Rhodes vs. Lyon College

The Rhodes College volleyball team continued its strong start to the 2026 season with a dominant 3-0 sweep of Lyon on Sept. 12 at Mallory Gymnasium in Memphis, Tenn. The Lynx improved to 6-1 on the season after earning set victories of 25-13, 25-18 and 25-15.


Key Performances

Rachel Clarke and Isabella Kvetensky led the Rhodes attack with 10 kills apiece, while Ashley Adams added six kills. Rhodes finished the match with 36 kills and posted a .307 hitting percentage.

Emma Clark directed the Lynx offense with 20 assists, while Luca Prest contributed nine assists and Chloe Davis added two.

Meg Gebhart and Ariana Williams provided a strong serving performance, recording six aces apiece. Clark added three aces as Rhodes finished with 16 service aces.

Clark also led Rhodes defensively with 11 digs, while Adams recorded nine and Davis added eight. At the net, Clarke and Kvetensky each recorded three blocks, while Adams contributed two.


Game Highlights

Rhodes controlled the match from the opening set, earning a 25-13 victory while hitting .440. The Lynx followed with a 25-18 second-set win before closing out the sweep with a 25-15 victory in the third set.

The Lynx finished the match with advantages in kills, 36-24; aces, 16-6; blocks, 5-2; assists, 34-23; and digs, 42-40. Rhodes also held Lyon to a .065 hitting percentage for the match.

Game Recap: Rhodes vs. Hendrix College

The Rhodes College volleyball team battled Hendrix in a four-set matchup on Sept. 12 at Mallory Gymnasium in Memphis, Tenn., falling 3-1 by scores of 9-25, 25-18, 20-25 and 23-25. The Lynx moved to 5-2 on the season after responding with a strong second-set performance and pushing Hendrix to the wire in the fourth set.

After dropping the opening set, Rhodes answered in the second with a dominant 25-18 victory. The Lynx continued to compete in the third set before Hendrix regained the advantage, 25-20. Rhodes then battled throughout the fourth set, ultimately falling 25-23.

Key Performances

Yzzi Dsamou and Caroline Short led the Rhodes attack with 10 kills apiece, while Hadley Wright added six kills. Rhodes finished the match with 42 kills.

Emma Clark paced the Lynx offense with 28 assists, while Luca Prest added 15 assists. Olivia Wiseman contributed three assists while also leading Rhodes defensively.

Wiseman recorded a team-high 16 digs, while Meg Gebhart added 11 and Short finished with eight. Rhodes totaled 49 digs in the match.

At the net, Rachel Clarke, Anna Satterfield and Chloe Dunnigan each recorded three blocks, helping Rhodes finish with six total blocks.

Game Highlights

Rhodes responded strongly after the opening set, hitting .464 in the second set while collecting 15 kills in a 25-18 victory. The Lynx continued to battle in the third and fourth sets, recording 10 and 11 kills, respectively.

The fourth set featured a close finish, with Rhodes falling 25-23 after battling throughout the final frame. Rhodes finished the match with six blocks, five service aces, 40 assists and 49 digs.

Short led the Lynx from the service line with three aces, while Gebhart added two. Rhodes also held a 6-6 tie with Hendrix in total blocks.

Despite the setback, Rhodes continued to compete throughout the four-set match and moves to 5-2 on the season.
