Men's Golf Continue Play In The 2nd Day Of The SAA Championships

Rhodes College continues into the second day of the SAA Championships on Saturday at Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tennessee, dropping to 6th overall after the second round. The Lynx posted a team score of 588 (+12) and plan to push past several colleges in the final round of the championships on Sunday. 

Round 2

Rhodes is now led by Parker Tenent Jr., scoring an even par of 72, placing him in a tie for 14th in the SAA leaderboard. Sujay Mukatira fell several places behind his original ranking, now in a tie at 20th with a score 4 above par (76).

Christian Iwai and Josh Phillips share a tie in 23rd with Iwai scoring a 74(+2) and Phillips scoring a 73 (+1).

Chase Austin rounded out the scoring lineup with a 7-over 79, placing tied for 42nd. Brooks Beach bettered his performance from yesterday with a score of 80 (+8) and a place of 46. 

Team Standings

After the opening round, Rhodes sits sixth in the team standings at +12, just 3 strokes behind Southwestern. Sewanee leads the championship at 19-under, followed by Trinity (-7), Oglethorpe (-4), Centre (+4), and Southwestern (+9).

Looking Ahead

With one final round remaining, the Lynx remain within striking distance of the teams ahead and will look to build momentum moving into Sunday's third round as they continue the pursuit of the conference championship.
