Box Score 2 Match Recap vs Sewanee
The Rhodes College men's tennis team fell 5–2 to Sewanee: The University of the South Saturday morning.
The Tigers claimed a tightly contested doubles point, winning two of three matches. Christian Mainella and Paul Fridman picked up Rhodes' lone doubles win with a 6-2 victory at No. 2, while the Lynx dropped close decisions at Nos. 1 and 3.
In singles play, Rhodes found success at the top of the lineup. Oliver Bonovich battled through a hard-fought three-set match at No. 1 singles, earning a 6-4, 7-6, 7-5 victory. Mainella followed with a strong 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2.
Sewanee responded by taking the remaining four singles matches to secure the team victory, with wins at Nos. 3 through 6 proving to be the difference.
Match Recap vs Centre College
The Rhodes College men's tennis team earned a narrow 4–3 victory over Centre College on April 5.
Rhodes secured the doubles point by winning two of the three matches. Oliver Bonovich and Nicholas Miloi picked up a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles, while Owen Fellrath and Topher Thornberry followed with another 6-4 victory at No. 3.
The Lynx carried a 1-0 lead into singles and split the six matches, doing just enough to hold on for the team win.
Bonovich led the way with a strong 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles, and Christian Mainella battled through three sets to earn a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 victory at No. 2. Fellrath added another point with a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 5.
Centre picked up wins at Nos. 3, 4, and 6 singles, including a pair of three-set battles, but Rhodes' doubles point and key singles performances proved to be the difference.
