Women’s Tennis Stays Hot with Pair of SAA Victories

Match Recap vs Oglethorpe University 

The Rhodes College women's tennis team delivered a dominant performance, sweeping Oglethorpe University 7–0 Saturday afternoon.

Rhodes controlled the match from the outset, sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the opening point. Agda Laakso and Lilly Higgins set the tone with a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles, while Gracie Rask and Claudia Ribeiro followed with a 6-2 victory at No. 2. Violet Taub and Grace May completed the sweep with a 6-2 win at No. 3.

The Lynx carried that momentum into singles play, winning every match in straight sets without dropping a set.

Rask led the way at No. 1 singles with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 victory. Laakso followed with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2, while Higgins added another shutout at No. 3, 6-0, 6-0.

Sofia Rodriguez earned a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 4, and Taylor Nash matched the shutout effort with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5. Grace May capped the sweep with another 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6.

Match Recap vs Berry College

The Rhodes College women's tennis team earned a strong 6–1 victory over Berry College Sunday morning.

Rhodes secured the doubles point by winning two of the three matches. Agda Laakso and Lilly Higgins led the way with a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles, while Sofia Rodriguez and Violet Taub added a 6-1 victory at No. 3. Berry claimed the No. 2 doubles match.

The Lynx carried that momentum into singles, winning five of six matches to seal the team victory.

Gracie Rask set the tone at No. 1 singles with a dominant 6-1, 6-2 win, and Laakso followed with a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 2. Lilly Higgins added another straight-set win at No. 3, 6-2, 6-2.

Claudia Ribeiro delivered a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles, and Violet Taub capped the scoring with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 6.

Berry earned its lone point at No. 4 singles.

With the win, Rhodes (9-1, 3-0) continued its strong stretch in conference play, building momentum as the season progresses.
