Men's Tennis Goes 2-0 in Georgia

Match Recap vs Oglethorpe University

The Rhodes College men's tennis team earned a hard-fought 4–3 victory over Oglethorpe University Saturday.

Rhodes secured the doubles point by winning two of the three matches. Oliver Bonovich and Nicholas Miloi opened with a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles, while Owen Fellrath and Topher Thornberry followed with a 6-2 victory at No. 3.

The Lynx carried a 1-0 lead into singles and picked up key wins across the lineup to secure the narrow victory.

Christian Mainella delivered a strong 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles, and Thornberry added a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 4. At the top spot, Bonovich battled back after dropping the first set to earn a three-set win, 2-6, 6-2, 7-5.

Oglethorpe claimed victories at Nos. 3, 5, and 6 singles, but Rhodes' early advantage and clutch performances proved to be the difference.

Match Recap vs Berry College

The Rhodes College men's tennis team earned a gritty 4–3 victory over Berry College Sunday.

Berry claimed the early edge by taking two of the three doubles matches to secure the opening point. Rhodes' lone doubles win came at No. 2, where Christian Mainella and Paul Fridman earned a 6-4 victory.

Trailing 1-0, the Lynx responded with a strong effort in singles, winning four of the six matches to complete the comeback.

Oliver Bonovich led the charge at No. 1 singles, battling through three sets to earn a 6-1, 2-6, 7-5 victory. Mainella followed with a dominant 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 2, while Fridman added another three-set victory at No. 3, 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.

Topher Thornberry secured the decisive point for Rhodes with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles.

Berry picked up wins at Nos. 4 and 6 singles, but Rhodes' resilience in the top half of the lineup proved to be the difference.

With the win, Rhodes continued its strong run in conference play, securing another narrow victory on the road.
