The Rhodes College men's tennis team delivered a dominant performance Saturday morning, sweeping Freed-Hardeman University 7–0.
Rhodes controlled the match from the outset, capturing all three doubles contests to secure the opening point. Oliver Bonovich and Christian Mainella set the tone with a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2, Erwann Monnet and Nicholas Miloi earned a 6-2 victory, while Owen Fellrath and Topher Thornberry closed out doubles play with a 6-4 win at No. 3.
The Lynx carried that momentum into singles action, winning every court to complete the sweep.
Bonovich earned the win at No. 1 singles, while Mainella battled through a competitive match at No. 2, bouncing back after dropping the second set to secure the victory in a 10-point tiebreak. Paul Fridman followed a similar script at No. 3 singles, also responding after a second-set setback to clinch his match in a match tiebreak.
Fellrath was dominant at No. 4 with a 6-2, 6-1 decision, and Thornberry added a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 5. Miloi capped the day with a decisive 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 6.
With the sweep, Rhodes continues to build momentum in non-conference play as the Lynx prepare for the heart of their spring schedule.
