Match Recap vs. No. 2 WashU
The Rhodes College women's tennis team fell 7–0 to No.2 WashU Tuesday morning at in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Washington (Mo.) took control early by sweeping all three doubles matches to claim the opening point. The Bears earned decisive wins at Nos. 1, 2, and 3 doubles to carry momentum into singles play.
In singles action, Washington continued its strong performance, capturing all six matches in straight sets. Gracie Rask pushed her opponent in the second set at No. 1 singles, rebounding after a first-set deficit before ultimately falling in two sets.
Agda Laakso competed at No. 2 singles, while Lilly Higgins, Sofia Rodriguez, Violet Taub, and Claudia Ribeiro rounded out the Lynx lineup at Nos. 3 through 6.
Match Recap vs. Washington & Jefferson College
The Rhodes College women's tennis team bounced back in dominant fashion Wednesday morning, sweeping Washington & Jefferson College 7–0.
Rhodes controlled the match from the start, winning all three doubles contests to claim the opening point. Agda Laakso and Lilly Higgins led the way with a 6-1 victory at No. 1 doubles, while Gracie Rask and Claudia Ribeiro followed with a 6-1 win at No. 2. Violet Taub and Grace May completed the sweep with another 6-1 result at No. 3 doubles.
The Lynx carried that momentum into singles play, earning straight-set victories on every court to complete the sweep.
Rask set the tone at the top of the lineup with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles. Laakso followed with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 2, while Higgins added a 6-1, 6-1 decision at No. 3.
Sofia Rodriguez dominated at No. 4 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win, and Claudia Ribeiro earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 5. Taylor Nash rounded out the scoring with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6.
With the victory, Rhodes continued its spring break competition in Hilton Head with a strong all-around performance.
