Women's Track & Field Compete in Vanderbilt Invitational

The Rhodes College Women's Track & Field team opened its 2026 indoor season this weekend in Nashville, Tennessee, competing at the Vanderbilt Invitational. Facing elite competition from across the NCAA and several professional athletes, the Lynx rose to the challenge as one of the only Division III programs in the field. Rhodes delivered strong performances across sprints and distance events, highlighted by multiple marks that cracked the NCAA top-50 leaderboard.

Sprints:

  • 60m Dash:
    • Senior Olivia Freeman had an outstanding day in the short sprints, advancing through preliminaries with a time of 7.66 seconds before finishing 19th overall in the semifinals in 7.69 seconds. Her preliminary mark currently ranks 9th nationally on the NCAA DIII leaderboard.
    • Freshman Tanilya Clark also competed in the 60 meters, clocking 8.06 seconds in the preliminaries in her second collegiate race at this distance.
       
  • 400m Dash:
    • Freshman Tatum Duncan opened her indoor season with a strong performance in the 400 meters, running 58.98 seconds to place 29th overall in a deep field. Her time currently ranks 38th nationally on the NCAA DIII leaderboard.
Distance Events:
  • Mile Run:
    • Junior Anna Cantrell delivered a strong showing in the mile, finishing in 5:10.75 for 42nd place overall. Her performance currently ranks 44th nationally on the NCAA leaderboard.
       
  • 3000m Run:
    • Senior Vivian Kalb competed in the 3000 meters, crossing the line in 11:17.01 while racing against a large and competitive distance field.
       
Opening the season against top-tier competition, Rhodes Women's Track & Field demonstrated depth, composure, and early-season momentum. With multiple performances ranking inside the NCAA top 50 and strong season debuts across events, the Lynx will look to continue building as the indoor season progresses.
