The Rhodes College Women's Golf team delivered another standout performance this week, earning a second-place finish at the Win Palmer Cup hosted by Wittenberg at Allegheny Country Club. The Lynx posted a two-day team total of 623 (311–312) in a competitive NCAA Division III field, showcasing their consistency and grit on a challenging championship layout.
Rhodes was led by sophomore standout Ava Bankston, who captured the individual title with a stellar +8 (75–73–148) across 36 holes. Bankston showed poise and control from tee to green, closing with a +3 round of 73—one of the lowest scores of the tournament—to secure the top spot on the leaderboard.
The Lynx maintained strong momentum throughout the event, building on an opening-round 311 with another solid showing in round two. Their performance further cements Rhodes' presence as a national contender as postseason play nears.
Grace Young followed with rounds of 82 and 76 to finish with a total of 158 (+18), delivering an impressive bounce-back on day two to support the team's scoring. Emily Mu contributed scores of 83 and 81 for a +24 total, while Weatherly Spence turned in a pair of consistent rounds (79–82) to finish at +21. Megan Morris and Lauren Schwing rounded out the lineup, with Morris carding a first-round 75 and Schwing showing resilience across both days.
Rhodes' second-place finish continues a strong spring season marked by top-tier performances and individual breakthroughs. Coming off a top-five finish at the Jekyll Island Collegiate, the Lynx continue to demonstrate depth, experience, and the ability to compete at a high level across varied conditions.
The team now sets its sights on the SAA Championship, carrying confidence and momentum into the postseason with multiple players firing on all cylinders.
