Rhodes College opened play at the SAA Women's Golf Championships on Friday at Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tennessee, finishing sixth overall after the first round. The Lynx posted a team score of 325 (+37) and remain in contention with two rounds left to play.
Round 1
Rhodes was led by Lauren Schwing, who delivered an excellent opening round of 77 (+5). Her performance placed her tied for ninth overall and gave the Lynx a top-10 individual showing after day one.
Kaylie Hui followed with a strong round of 80 (+8), finishing tied for 19th and keeping Rhodes firmly in the mix entering the second round.
Catie Bernoski and Avery Lent each carded matching rounds of 84 (+12), both finishing tied for 34th. Their steady scores added valuable depth to the Rhodes lineup.
Sophia Zamora rounded out the team score with an 87 (+15), placing tied for 38th.
Team Standings
After the opening round, Rhodes sits sixth in the team standings at +37. Sewanee leads the championship at +10, followed by Trinity (+17), Oglethorpe (+28), Centre (+29), and Southwestern (+34).
Looking Ahead
With two rounds remaining, the Lynx will look to climb the leaderboard and build on a solid opening day as they continue their pursuit of a strong finish at the conference championships.
