SEWANEE, TN – The Rhodes Lynx opened conference play with a fierce battle against Sewanee, ultimately falling 16-12 in a hard-fought contest on the road. Despite the final score, the Lynx showcased their firepower and resilience, proving they will be a force to be reckoned with this season.
Key Performances:
Rhodes came out strong, keeping pace with Sewanee throughout the first half. After trailing 5-3 at the end of the first quarter, the Lynx surged back in the second, outscoring their opponents 4-3 to bring the game within one goal at halftime. Kardian and O'Mailey led the charge, connecting for key scoring plays that kept the momentum on Rhodes' side.
Despite a strong defensive effort and continued pressure on the offensive end, the Lynx struggled to convert key possessions into goals. Sewanee took advantage and pushed their lead to 13-8 heading into the final period. Refusing to back down, Rhodes came alive in the fourth quarter. Erdle and Kardian both found the back of the net, cutting into the deficit. The Lynx defense tightened up, forcing multiple turnovers and limiting Sewanee's offensive chances.
