After an early strike by Mount Union, Anna Erskine wasted no time in evening the score, setting the tone for Rhodes' aggressive play. Alban Erdle stepped up with back-to-back goals, skillfully supported by Delaney O'Mailey and Molly Heidrick, to push the Lynx ahead by the end of the first period.
In the second period, the Lynx unleashed their full offensive might. Riley Schutt, assisted by Heidrick, found the net with precision, and Amelia Giese followed with a brilliant unassisted goal. Nur Hamada then weaved through defenders to give Rhodes the lead. The third period cemented Rhodes' dominance. Caroline Kardian's unassisted strike and Molly Heidrick's clutch goal kept the Lynx firmly in control. Even as Mount Union attempted to rally, the Lynx defense, anchored by their disciplined teamwork, stood strong.
In the final period, Rhodes demonstrated their resilience and composure. Anna Erskine and Caroline Kardian added key goals, and with just seconds remaining, Sophia Rose sealed the victory with an electrifying unassisted shot. Rhodes emerged victorious, 14-11, their determination and skill shining through every minute of the game.
While the offense dazzled, Olivia Woods stood as a fortress in goal for Rhodes, recording a career high 15Â saves. Her sharp reflexes and unwavering focus thwarted multiple Mount Union attempts, providing the backbone for her team's confident play.
As the final whistle sounded, the Lynx celebrated a hard-fought victory. Their unwavering spirit, strategic plays, and sharp execution had carried them to victory.
