After defeating Oneonta on Saturday, the Lynx returned to Stauffer Field to take on a talented Spalding University team led by one of the premier pitchers in Division 3.

Riding a hot streak, the Rhodes College offense got things going early as Cooper Angilly singled home a run in the bottom of the 2nd to take the lead. The following inning, Ben Burkhart crushed his 4th homer of the season, a solo shot that put the Lynx up 2-0. The Lynx added 3 more in the bottom of the 4th with a couple of unearned runs as well as a sacrifice fly off the bat of Corbin Kinder. After adding 2 more unearned runs in the bottom of the 7th, the Lynx would settle the score at 7-0.

The Rhodes ace Zac Sohosly took the mound for his third start of the year. The lefty was absolutely lights out as he dealt 7.0 innings of shutout ball, only allowing one hit and striking out 11. Sohosky carried a no-hitter into the top of the 7th. This stellar performance would pave the way for the Lynx to claim their 8th win of the season by a final score of 7-0. Zac Sohosky improves his record to 3-0.

The Lynx overall record moves to 8-1. They will be in action at home once again tomorrow at 1:30 pm against the University of Chicago.
