The Rhodes College Baseball team continued their outstanding start to the season with their 8th win in a row against the University of Chicago.

The offense was the story for the Lynx in this game as they were able to put up 12 runs in support of their pitching staff. Cooper Kuriger got the scoring started with his first homer of the season, a three run shot that tied the game in the bottom of the 4th. A couple of batters later, Malcolm Rohlfing stroked a double to left center driving in Myles Kruger and giving the Lynx a 4-3 lead. The Lynx offense opened things up in the bottom of the 5th as they struck for 5 runs in the inning. Cooper Kuriger continued his impressive day at the plate with an RBI double, giving him his 4th RBI of the game. Malcolm Rohlfing also produced yet again as he knocked another double to left center, this time plating 2 runners and extending the Lynx lead to 8-3. Austin Smith also recorded an RBI in the inning.

After UChicago rallied in the late innings to bring the score to 9-8 in favor of Rhodes, Myles Kruger came to the plate with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 8th. Kruger cleared the bases with a 3 RBI double that would put the game out of reach for the Maroons, and the Lynx claimed their 8th consecutive victory by a final score of 12-9.

The Lynx record improves to 9-1 and they will be in action once again from Stauffer field tomorrow at 1 pm.
