Game Recap: Rhodes vs. UChicago
Saturday, November 29 Rhodes lost their match-up against U Chicago in their first game of the All-Academic Classic hosted by Wash U in St Louis, Missouri. It was a competitive game, but the slow start in the first couple minutes of the first half sealed the Lynx's fate as they were playing catch-up so early in the game.
Key Performances:
Phil Dotson was the leading scorer for the Lynx as he finished with 14 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
Jackson Huxtable followed with 11 points along with 4 rebounds.
Off the bench
Sam Maddox showcased his marksmanship as he scored 12 points going 4-6 from the three-point line. Maddox filled up the stat sheet as he added 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Also, coming off the bench
Shawn Jones Jr scored 10 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished out 3 assists.
Game Highlights:
A slow start offensively had Rhodes down 20-6 by the 12 minute mark. However, the bench came in with high energy and went on run that included them hitting 5 three pointers to cut the lead to 29-25 with 8 minutes to go.
Coming into the second half down 13 the Lynx got more aggressive defensively forcing U Chicago's shooting percentage to go down 20%. Their opponent even while up 10 plus felt the pressure of Rhodes's up-tempo as the Lynx shot better and earned some trips to free throw line
Game Recap: Rhodes vs. WashU
In their second game of the All-Academic Classic Rhodes suffered their second straight loss of the season to Wash U. It was a back-and-forth affair until Rhodes found themselves down 11 going into halftime and were not able to make a significant enough run to get back into the game.
Key Performances:
Phil Dotson was the leading scorer with 23 points followed with 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.
Trevor Lombard had 11 points, and
Sam Maddox had 10 off the bench.
Shawn Jones Jr with a near double-double had 10 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 block.
Game Highlights:
The first half was very competitive as both teams were trading buckets. Even though their shots weren't falling the Lynx's defense kept them close in this game.
The second half was a much better showing offensively as Rhodes shot 54% from the field and 45% of their three pointers.

Rhodes will play Hendrix at home in Mallory Gymnasium on Saturday, December 6 for the second time this season. In their last game, Rhodes beat Hendrix 81-66 to record their first win of the season.
