Game Recap: Rhodes vs. UChicago

Saturday, November 29 Rhodes lost their match-up against U Chicago in their first game of the All-Academic Classic hosted by Wash U in St Louis, Missouri. It was a competitive game, but the  slow start in the first couple minutes of the first half sealed the Lynx's fate as they were playing catch-up so early in the game.

Key Performances:

Phil Dotson was the leading scorer for the Lynx as he finished with 14 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Jackson Huxtable followed with 11 points along with 4 rebounds.

Off the bench Sam Maddox showcased his marksmanship as he scored 12 points going 4-6 from the three-point line. Maddox filled up the stat sheet as he added 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Also, coming off the bench Shawn Jones Jr scored 10 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished out 3 assists.

Game Highlights:

A slow start offensively had Rhodes down 20-6 by the 12 minute mark. However, the bench came in with high energy and went on run that included them hitting 5 three pointers to cut the lead to 29-25 with 8 minutes to go.

Coming into the second half down 13 the Lynx got more aggressive defensively forcing U Chicago's shooting percentage to go down 20%. Their opponent even while up 10 plus felt the pressure of Rhodes's up-tempo as the Lynx shot better and earned some trips to free throw line
