Game Recap: Rhodes vs University of Mary Hardin-BaylorÂ
This past Thursday, November 6th the Rhodes College Women's Volleyball Team took on the Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders at the Mallory Gymnasium in Memphis, TN. Though the Lynx fought hard, they fell to the Crusaders 0-3.
Key Performances
Defensively, junior libero
Olivia Wiseman led the back row with 17 digs. Her defense kept the Lynx alive in the long rallies they faced and her aggressive coverage of the backrow prevented numerous kills from the Crusaders.
Offensively, freshman
Caroline Short had 5 kills, junior
Yzzi Dsamou had 4 kills, and senior
Hope Wehrli had 3 kills. Behind these kills, setters
Mackenzie Geer and
Emma Clark both had 9 assists.Â
Game Highlights
The first point of the game started off with a kill from junior
Yzzi Dsamou assisted by senior setter
Mackenzie Geer. The set went back and forth for a while until the Crusaders went on a run. The Lynx continued to fight but fell short 17-25. Headed into the second set with the momentum in favor of the Crusaders, the Lynx had to battle to get some points on the scoreboard. Senior
Sophie Snodgrass and freshman
Caroline Short put some points on the scoreboard, but the Lynx dropped the second set 8-25. Though the Lynx went behind by two sets, they didn't give up and continued to battle against the Crusaders in the third set. The Lynx put up more points in the third set but unfortunately fell short 19-25. Overall, the Lynx lost to the Crusaders 0-3.
