Game Recap: Rhodes vs. LeTourneau University

The Rhodes College volleyball team closed out its 2025 season on Saturday morning, falling 3-0 to LeTourneau University at the Gold Dome in Shreveport, Louisiana. Despite showing improved energy and consistency in the later sets, the Lynx were unable to overcome the YellowJackets' efficient attack, dropping the match 25-10, 25-18, 25-19.

Key Performances

Sophomore Caroline Short led the offensive effort with 9 kills and added 5 digs and an ace, providing a spark on both ends of the court. Maggie Lukemire contributed 5 kills and 2 blocks, while Belle Lukemire added 4 kills in support.

Setter Emma Clark dished out 12 assists and collected 5 digs, while Mackenzie Geer tallied 7 assists and 1 ace. Defensively, KK Sowers anchored the back row with a team-high 7 digs, helping the Lynx battle through extended rallies.

After a slow start in the first set, Rhodes regrouped in the second and third, pushing LeTourneau with longer rallies and improved blocking. The Lynx hit their best percentage in the third set at .108, highlighted by balanced attacking across the front line. However, LeTourneau's .319 team hitting percentage and strong blocking presence proved too much to overcome.

The Rhodes College volleyball team wrapped up its regular season 2025 campaign on a high note Saturday afternoon, defeating Centenary 3-1 at the Gold Dome in Shreveport. The Lynx controlled the match from the start, taking sets one and two before closing out the victory in four (25-23, 25-17, 24-26, 25-14).

Key Performances

Sophomore Caroline Short capped off her strong season with a standout performance, leading all players with 19 kills to go along with 14 digs and 2 aces. Belle Lukemire added 10 kills and 3 blocks, while Isabella Kvetensky contributed 8 kills on an efficient hitting day.

Emma Clark directed the offense with 26 assists, 4 aces, and 5 digs, while Luca Prest added 17 assists and steady setting in transition. KK Sowers anchored the back row with a team-high 15 digs, supported by Chloe Davis (12 digs, 3 aces) and Caroline Short's all-around defensive effort.

At the net, Maggie Lukemire and Martha Greene each tallied 4 blocks, helping Rhodes hold Centenary to just a .123 hitting percentage for the match.

Rhodes opened the match with balanced offense and poise under pressure, edging out the first set 25-23 before cruising to a dominant 25-17 win in set two. After a narrow 26-24 loss in the third, the Lynx bounced back with a statement fourth set, hitting .233 while limiting Centenary to only 8 kills. The 25-14 clincher showcased Rhodes' depth and control, sealing their 11th win of the season.
