Game Recap: Rhodes vs. Trinity University

In a high-intensity matchup on their home field, the Rhodes College women's soccer team fell 3–0 to nationally ranked Trinity University on November 9 at Rhodes Soccer Field. The Lynx battled throughout, creating eight total shots and four on target while matching the Tigers physically in a competitive postseason test.

Sophia Rall contributed in the midfield with an active defensive presence and helped push Rhodes forward during key stretches, while also drawing a first-half caution in a hard-fought effort. The Lynx offense generated four shots on goal across both halves, forcing the Trinity keeper into multiple saves and creating pressure late in the match. Defensively, the back line held strong through extended Trinity possessions, especially in the second half when the Tigers pushed forward. Goalkeeper Olivia Barfield recorded three saves, including several important stops after halftime to keep the Lynx within striking distance.

Game Highlights

Trinity opened the scoring in the 13th minute and doubled the lead in the 29th to take a 2–0 advantage into the break. The Tigers added a third goal in the 51st minute, but Rhodes responded with renewed energy, producing three second-half shots and earning their lone corner of the match while challenging the Trinity back line. Despite the push, the Tigers held on to secure the clean sheet.
