Game Recap: Rhodes vs. East Texas Baptist
In a strong all-around performance, Rhodes defeated East Texas Baptist 76–54 on November 21 at Mallory Gymnasium. The Lynx controlled the game on both ends, using efficient shooting, balanced scoring, and a 35-point effort from the bench to improve to 5–0 on the season.
Key Performances
Trevor Lombard led the scoring effort for Rhodes, finishing with 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including 4-of-8 from three, while adding two assists.
Off the bench, Shawn Jones Jr. delivered a major spark with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and strong interior play.
Sam Maddox added another lift from the bench, scoring 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting and knocking down three threes.
Jack Dempsey controlled the glass with 8 rebounds, contributing six points in 23 minutes.
Rhodes' depth continued to shine, with 35 bench points and contributions from up and down the rotation.

Rhodes opened the game with a strong first half, shooting 53.1% from the field to build a 39–30 lead at the break. The Lynx then extended their control in the second half, hitting seven threes after halftime and finishing with 11 made threes overall.
Defensively, Rhodes limited East Texas Baptist to 37% shooting and held them without a made three in the first half. The Lynx used 15 fast-break points and strong work on the boards—outrebounding ETBU 44–33—to keep the momentum firmly on their side.
A late second-half surge, featuring threes from Lombard, Jones Jr., and Maddox, put the game out of reach as Rhodes closed out its fifth straight win.
