Game Recap: Rhodes vs Millsaps
This past Thursday, October 9th, the Rhodes Women's Volleyball team traveled to Jackson, MS to take on the Millsaps Majors for the first time this season. In a four set game, the Lynx fell 1-3 to the Majors.Â

Caroline Short had 10 kills each. Behind these hitters, senior Mackenize Geer had 18 assists and junior
Emma Clark had 16 assists. In the backrow, junior Meg Gebahrt led the defense with 21 digs.Â

The first set started off with both teams earning points back-to-back, until the Lynx went on a serving run lead by junior

Caroline Short and a kill from sophomore Isabella Kventensky. The Lynx continued with this momentum and won off of a kill from senior
Hope Wehrli 25-18.Â
However, the Majors did not give in and started the second set with a seven point run. The Majors continued with their momentum and won the second set 25-13.Â
Headed into the third set, the Lynx were determined to rally back. Both teams went back and forth with points with kills from junior

Meg Gebhart. Though the Lynx battled, the Majors went on a run towards the conclusion of the set and won 25-19. In the fourth set, the Lynx continued their fight but fell short again 19-25. Notably, in the final set junior

Rachel Clarke had 4 kills. Overall, the Lynx fell short to the Majors 1-3.Â
Game Recap: Rhodes vs Oglethorpe vs BerryÂ
This past weekend marked the first home conference matches the Lynx had this season. On Saturday, October 11th the Lynx defeated the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels. On Sunday, October 12th, the Lynx fell short to the Berry Vikings.Â

In the first set against Oglethorpe, the Lynx started off behind 2-8. Though the momentum was in favor of the Stormy Petrels, the Lynx continued to fight the uphill battle, eventually tying the set 18-18. With a service run and ace from junior
Meg Gebhart, the Lynx came back and won the first set 25-22. After that hard-fought battle, the Lynx came out with high energy and a determination to take the second set. Battling together, the Lynx won the second set with a significant score of 25-14. Though, the Stormy Petrels were not going to lose easily. The two teams battled back and forth in the third set, until the Lynx fell short 25-27. The fourth set was also a battle, with neither team pulling ahead with a significant lead. KK Sowers got two aces, freshman
Caroline Short got a kill, and senior Hope Wehlri landed a kill to end the game 25-23. Overall, the Lynx defeated the Stormy Petrels 3-1.Â
The Lynx had previously played the 15th nationally ranked Vikings earlier in the season and fell 0-3. This past weekend, the Lynx fell 1-3, but took a set off the Vikings and showed significant improvement from their last match-up.Â

Rachel Clarke had significant kills earning the Lynx points on the scoreboard. It was a close set, but the Lynx fell 22-25. Headed into the second set, the Vikings had the momentum on their side. Though the Lynx held them off from getting long runs, they fell short again 19-25. Headed into the third set, the Lynx knew it was all or nothing to give themselves a chance at defeating the Vikings. Hope Wehrli, the Lynx won the third set 25-20. The fourth set was a relentless battle, with the Lynx having to fight back after the Vikings went on a 7 point run. Though, the Lynx did not give in and eventually tied the game 20-20. Though they battled to the end, the Lynx fell short by two points 23-25. Overall, the Lynx lost to the Vikings 1-3.Â

Now 9-12 overall and 3-6 in SAA play, Rhodes will travel to face Sewanee on October 18, 2025. The Lynx will look to regroup and continue to improve as conference play continues.
