To start the game, both teams were ice cold. The Lynx were unable to score their first basket until the 17:01 mark. By the time the first media timeout was called, both teams shot a combined 1-10 from the field with the score being 2-0 Rhodes. Centre finally got on the scoreboard with a corner three shortly after. Both teams seemed to make each other uncomfortable on offense. Centre's 3-2 zone made Rhodes settle for contested threes and make careless turnovers, while Rhodes's intense on-ball and help defense made Centre rush their shots. The first half was very much a defensive half and Rhodes's defense carried them to a 33-28 lead to go into halftime.
The second half was the total opposite of the first half has both teams came out firing. Both teams were trading buckets until Centre went on a huge 14-2 run to go up 46-39. However, after the under 12 media timeout, a fire was lit under the Lynx as they went on a run of their own scoring ten straight. With seven minutes to go Rhodes was up 54-53, and after a couple minutes of trading buckets Rhodes went on another run this time it was a 13-4 run to go up 70-61 with under two minutes to go. Centre tried to rally back by playing the free throw game, and it almost worked as Rhodes struggled to hit big free throws. Up 70-68, the Lynx were put on the line with three seconds left and made two consecutive free throws to ice the game. Rhodes won 72-68.
Team Statistics:
