Lynx Defeat No. 25 Covenant

The Rhodes Men's Soccer team achieved a 2-1 win against No. 25 Covenant College in their third match of the season on September 10, 2024. This tight victory marks the home opener of 2024 for the Lynx as they are looking to continue their form into their next match.

The Lynx took yet another early lead with the opening goal scored in the second minute of the first half. Freshman defender Matthew Sucato finished the opportunity after a recycled corner kick with Senior Evan Buecker providing his second assist in two games This marked Sucato's first collegiate goal for the Lynx. After holding off the Scots and not allowing many shots for the majority of the match, Rhodes doubled down after scoring a second in the 85th minute. Senior Forward Max McLarty snatched his first goal of the season from an assist by Freshman Midfielder Kaleb Dawit. Despite conceding in the 87th minute, the Lynx were able to see the match through to secure the 2-1 over No. 25 Covenant.
