Men's Soccer split the weekend in Richmond, VA. Preparing to face the Lyon Scots and Belhaven Blazers at home

The Rhodes Men's Soccer team had a split this weekend, achieving a 4-0 win against the Hampden-Sydney College Tigers on Friday, September 13, 2024 in Richmond VA. After the long trip east, the Lynx put together a team performance to get the result. With goals by four different players, this convincing victory marked the third win of the season in four games. The Rhodes Men's Soccer team (3-2) fell to No. 4 Ranked Mary Washington (6-1-0) 4-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Richmond Kickers stadium. The Eagles scored three in the first half with both teams collecting one goal each in the second. 

Match Recap: Rhodes vs. Hampden-Sydney
After absorbing some early chances from the Tigers in the opening minutes of the match, the Lynx collected their first goal after a well-executed counter attack with the finish coming from Max McLarty marking his second goal in two games. 

He was assisted by Ben Novello who scored the second goal of the match after a well-placed header, assisted by Junior Matthew Ahl. 

Late into the first half Senior Jackson Thelen crossed the ball to Senior Dawson Ullrich who recorded his first goal of the year off the volley. 

The Lynx collected their fourth and final goal of the match via a chip over the keeper by Jackson Thelen who displayed his experience and composure.
