Rhodes drops 11-8 game to Berry
On a drizzly Friday night in Memphis, TN, Rhodes squared off against Berry (Rome, GA)  for the first Southern Athletic Association game of the season for Rhodes. The game saw a few critical momentum swings for both teams where Rhodes had a slight 2-1 early, only to have Berry strike for five unanswered goals between the 1st and 2nd quarter to earn a 6-2 lead halfway through the 2nd quarter. Rhodes closed the lead to 6-4, but Berry scored in the final minute of the second quarter to head into the break up 7-4. Rhodes battled back and drew within one goal 8-7 early in the 4th quarter, but Berry cashed in quickly to push their lead upto 11-7 Final 11-8.
Rhodes rebounds with a 22-7 win against Oglethorpe
Playing in our second SAA game of the weekend, Rhodes was pitted against Oglethorpe (Atlanta, GA) and prevailed 22-7. Led by Martin Maxim '25 (4 goals, 3 assists), Andrew Murphy '26 (2 goals, 3 assists), Miles Pollack '25 (1 goal, 3 assists), Conor Casey (2 goals, 2 assists) and Gavin Nagle '27 (3 goals), The Lynx had contributions from 14 different players to help put the game away. A big reason for the game going Rhodes way was faceoff specialist Jake Gobel '25 going 24-30 with 11 ground ball. A strong team victory pushing Rhodes conference record to 1-1.
