The Women's Basketball team started off their 2024-25 season today playing the Illinois Institute of Technology Scarlet Hawks in Mallory Gymnasium in Memphis, TN.

· Avery Marsh led the Lynx offensively with 21 points
· Giana Vlahakos had 11 rebounds

The Lynx started out the first quarter hot winning the tip off and Taylor Dupree making the first bucket in the paint. The team went on to start a lead they would hold through the entire game. At the end of the first quarter, the Lynx led the Hawks 19 to 9. The Lynx held the momentum into the 2nd quarter being led offensively by Avery Marsh, who had 9 in this quarter. The Lynx went back to the locker room with an 18-point differential, leading 37-19.
Coming into the second half of the game, the Lynx continued to widen the led against the Hawks. AC Milam had two good layups in the paint this quarter and she scored 11 in the game. At the end of the 3rd, the Lynx led 50-27. The Lynx closed out their first win of the season with a layup from freshman, Malea Graves scoring her first collegiate points. The final score was 64-40.
