Mary Washington's Grayson Scott broke this stalemate at 45:53, giving the Eagles a lead. Unfazed, the Lynx found the equalizer at 50:36 with Lora Chandler scoring her first collegiate goal. Regular time ended at a 1-1 standstill, which persisted though the first overtime. Entering the second overtime with undiminished determination, Alder Dickey was able to find the back of the net at 71:00, securing the Lynx a 2-1 double overtime victory.
