The Lynx sprung back into action immediately vs the Berry Vikings, as
Peter York hit his second leadoff homer of the year. After falling down 3-1, the Lynx uncorked a huge fifth, led off by
Quinn Blackman, who roped a triple off the right field wall, and scored on a single from
Dante Messina. The Lynx put up three more runs on hits from
John McNair,
Ben Wilson, and
Ben Burkhart.
Â
The Vikings came back though, eventually taking a 6-5 lead going into the ninth. The duo of Blackman and Messina came through for the second time of the game, with Blackman smoking a double down the left-field line, and Messina coming through with a huge, game-tying triple.
John McNair, who hit two walkoff homers last year, stepped up to the plate and lifted a game-winning sac fly into left, scoring Messina and securing the 7-6 win.Â
Â
Freshman Zac Sohosky made his sixth start of the season, going a quality 6 innings, allowing 3 runs, only 1 of which was earned.
John Fears and
Noah Roland each pitched in relief, but credited for the Win is Fifth Year
Andy Hanaway, who relieved Roland and got out of a huge jam, setting up the Lynx to walk it off in the bottom of the ninth.Â
