The Rhodes women's soccer was undefeated this weekend, topping Oglethorpe University Friday 4-0 and Berry College Saturday 1-0.
Â
Mary Gale Godwin was the first to score a goal for the Lynx against Oglethorpe early Friday with an assist from
Megan Propp. With the Lynx up 1-0, it was a physical back-and-forth battle for most of the first half.
Dalis Hawkins would see some action towards the end of the first, scoring her first goal of the season;
Taylor Theofiledes assisted her.
Â
The Lynx went into the second half up 2-0 against the Stormy Petrels. Megan Prop was the next Lynx to score with the help of
Reese Owens. With less than 10 minutes to go in the match,
Sophia Rall scored an unassisted goal to give the Lynx a 4-0 victory over Oglethorpe.
Â
Saturday's match between the Rhodes Lynx and the Berry Vikings went scoreless in the first half, thanks to goalkeeper
Maggie Wakefield. This physical scoreless contest ended when
Megan Propp slotted the ball across the box, finding Midfielder
Mary Gale Godwin for the first and only goal of the match.
Â
These wins bring the Lyxn to a 9-4-1 overall record and a 4-2 SAA conference record. Which now puts the Lynx in fourth in the conference standings.
Â
The Lynx are back in action at home on Saturday, Oct. 21st, when they take on Hendrix College at noon.
