Box Score 2 MEMPHIS, Tenn. (April 2, 2022) - Men's tennis split their road weekend matches, moving their overall record to 6-11 (2-1 SAA). The Lynx defeated Berry 5-4 on Saturday, and dropped a tough one to Oglethorpe, 6-3.

The Lynx started the day by taking two of three doubles points. In the first group,
Daniel Trudell and
David Phillips defeated Elijah Gabriel and Bohdan Higley, 8-3. Both second and third doubles saw intense matches that required extra points. On court two,
Gabe Williams and
Justin Bobo took down Kyle Lutian and Connor Murphy 8-7 (7-3). The Vikings scored one point on court three when Noah Koch and Carsten Balao defeated
Ryan Crump and
Owen Kohler, 8-7 (7-4).Â
Singles play was evenly matched between the two teams. Berry secured wins on courts one, five and six. Meanwhile, Rhodes claimed victory on two and four.
Justin Bobo took down Gabriel on court two by a score of 7-6, 6-0. On court four, Phillips defeated Ford Smith 6-3, 6-1. With the score knotted at 4-4, it was
Gabe Williams who came through with a clutch victory, defeating Lutian in three sets, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.Â

Rhodes scored the first point of the day from doubles one as Trudell and Phillips took down Ameya Dani and Daniel Cohen, 8-1. Unfortunately, the Petrels snagged the next two doubles matches in a couple of close ones. Bobo and Williams fell 8-6, while Crump and Kohler dropped a heartbreaker, 8-7 (8-6).
Trudell dispatched his opponent from first singles with ease, taking the match 6-1, 6-2. The next three points all went to Oglethorpe on courts three, two and five to clinch the match. Rhodes would gain an extra point from court four where
David Phillips outlasted Kirkman Kiker, 6-5 (7-5), 6-2.Â
