Box Score WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 13, 2022) - Facing yet another nationally-ranked opponent, the Rhodes Lynx fell in a tough battle against the Franklin & Marshall Diplomats on Sunday morning in Florida by a score of 13-9. The loss moves Rhodes to 0-7 on the season, with four losses coming against ranked teams.
The Diplomats got off to a hot start, jumping ahead 5-0 in the first quarter. The Lynx were undeterred, and battled back to tie things up at five apiece midway through the second quarter. Each team added to their totals before the half, with Franklin & Marshall taking an 8-6 lead into the break.
The third quarter started slowly, before Rhodes broke through with a
Ryan Dancy goal off a feed from
Christian Cisneros to make it a one score game. Unfortunately, that sparked the Diplomats offense. For the remainder of the game, F&M controlled possessions and added to their score. They scored four straight goals to take a commanding 12-7 lead. Rhodes would add two in the fourth on shots from the stick of
Drew Downes, but it would not be enough as they fell 12-9.
Cisneros, a Winter Park native, looked great for the Lynx. He scored once and assisted on six Lynx goals.
Jake Gobel, another Winter Park native, went 11/21 on faceoffs. Downes led the scoring atack with five goals. In goal,
Brendan Roberts secured 20 saves.
