Lynx Shutout Warriors at Home

Rhodes defeated Hendrix 25-0 on Friday afternoon

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (March 11, 2022) - The Rhodes Lynx continued their offensive onslaught on Friday, defeating SAA foe Hendrix by a score of 25-0 at Mason Field. The win moves Rhodes to 5-2 (2-0 SAA), while Hendrix falls to 0-4 (0-2 SAA).

It did not take long for the Lynx to get on the board as Payton Bennett cashed in from just outside the goalie box 42 seconds in to the game. It was the first of eleven goals that Rhodes would score in the first quarter on Friday. Aidan Pike would card a hat trick in the period, and was joined in scoring by Avery Burke (2), Chloe Parker (2), Baylee Barker, Carina Wesker, and Emily Bruner. In addition to her goal in the first, Bruner would also add eight assists in the game, her second straight contest with eight helpers. She is currently the SAA leader in total assists and assists per game.

Rhodes would tack on seven more in the second, two in the third, and five in the fourth quarter in the 25-0 rout. A total of eighteen different Lynx scored a goal in this one. Ten players scored at least two points in the match as well. It is the third straight game for the Lynx offense scoring more than 20 goals.

Despite the lopsided score, a hat tip goes to Hendrix goalie Alexis Williams who was absolutely under fire all day. She recorded 25 saves in addition to her 25 goals allowed. Emma Bradley earned the win for Rhodes with one save on her ledger.

The Lynx will head to the Sunshine State for spring break, playing three games in Florida. First up will be a match against Mount Holyoke on Monday, March 14th. Faceoff is set for 9:00 am eastern.
