Box Score CLEARWATER, Fla. (March 14, 2022) - The Rhodes Lynx started their spring break trip off in a big way, defeating the Mount Holyoke Lyons 23-2 on Monday morning. The win moves Rhodes to 6-2 on the year, while the Lyons fall to 1-2. 

The Lynx struck early and often in this one. Payton Bennett started things off with the first two girls of the game, and was joined in the box score by Izzy Parker, Chloe Parker (twice) and Avery Burke. Payton assisted on two of the goals in addition to the two she scored. The Lyons were able to sneak one on the board from the stick of Allie Brown to make it 6-1.

After Payton added a third goal near the start of the second quarter, Holyoke received a second from Brown. Unfortunately for them, it would be the last time they scored in the match. Bayle Barker, Chloe Parker, and Aidan Pike scored the next three goals, all off of feeds from Emily Bruner. Pike would add two more goals for the second-quarter hat trick, followed by a score from Carina Wesker off another Bruner assist. Rhodes led at halftime, 13-2.

Bruner joined the scoring barrage in the third quarter, and then went on to assist on the next three Lynx goals. Rhodes totaled five goals in the third to extend their lead to 18-2. 

The Lynx added five more goals in the fourth quarter for the final of 23-2. By the end of it all, Bruner had tallied nine assists in the game, setting a new Rhodes record. It is the third straight game that she has posted eight or more assists. 

Rhodes will have Tuesday off to enjoy the Florida sunshine before hitting the field against Rowan University on Wednesday. The game will be played on the campus of Saint Leo University, with faceoff scheduled for 11:00 am eastern.
