MEMPHIS - Rhodes College volleyball has been named a recipient of the United States Marine Corps (USMC)/American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award as announced by the organization for the 2020-21 academic year.

The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.

In total, 1,275 teams garnered the honor in 2020-21 with the Lynx posting a cumulative GPA of 3.62.

This marks the 14th time in program history the Lynx have garnered AVCA Team Academic honors and the fifth in the last six years.
