Danville, Ky. - Rhodes College men's lacrosse advances to the Southern Athletic Association Tournament Championship game after defeating Birmingham-Southern 15-4.
BSC, the third seed, scored first in the opening semifinal matchup. Senior
Matt Perez scored back-to-back goals to give Rhodes their first lead of the game before BSC tied the game in a man-up situation with a minute left in the first quarter. Â
The Lynx offense dominated the second and third quarters. Rhodes scored the only two goals of the second quarter before opening the second half with another two goals. Down by four, BSC scored with 10 minutes left in the quarter before the Lynx scored three in a row. BSC closed the quarter with 31 seconds left as Rhodes led 9-4.Â
The Lynx shut out the Panthers in the fourth frame while scoring an additional six goals for the win.Â

Ryan Farrell added three.
Brendan Roberts picked up the win with 11 saves.
Rhodes edged BSC in shots (46-34) while BSC's goalkeeper made 17 saves. The Lynx went 16-of-19 in clears compared to BSC's 16-of-25. The Lynx also grabbed 39 ground balls compared to the Panthers'Â 23.
Rhodes will take on host Centre in their quest for their third straight tournament title. First faceoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 25.
