Memphis - After delaying the start of their conference matchup with Millsaps due to wet courts from overnight thunderstorms, Rhodes College women's tennis fell 9-0 on Saturday before earning the non-conference matchup 6-3 on Sunday. The Lynx are now 5-4 on the season and 3-2 in conference play.
Three of Saturday's singles contests went into third set tiebreakers with all three going the way of the Majors.Â
On Sunday, Millsaps earned two doubles victories before tallying their third win in the No. 5 singles slot. This time two singles third set tiebreakers went to the Lynx. At No. 3 singles,
Julia Darkey came back from falling in a first set tiebreaker 6-7 (4) to winning 6-1,10-8. At No. 6 singles,
Caroline Yarbrough won 7-5, 0-6, 12-10.
Rhodes will finish the regular season next weekend hosting Centre College. Sunday the Lynx will celebrate Senior Day.
