Memphis - The Lynx continue their win streak after a 24-3 non-conference victory over Berry College Sunday. Rhodes women's lacrosse has now won 11 straight games with one remaining for the regular season.
The Lynx scored within the first 63 seconds on their way to 13 unanswered goals. Sophomore
Emily Bruner scored the first goal of the game before earning her sixth point just five minutes after the first whistle. She had assisted six of Rhodes first 13 goals.
By halftime, Rhodes led 17-1. Bruner assisted the first goal of the second half before earning her eighth assist of the day when she served
Aidan Pike to give the Lynx a 22-1 lead with 13:05 left to play. Berry closed out the game with two of the final four goals.
Bruner finished the day with a career-high 10 points to go along with her record-breaking eight assists.
Payton Bennett totaled eight points which included five assists while
Carina Wesker tallied five points with four goals and the game-high five ground balls.
Baylee Barker led the game with eight draw controls and three caused turnovers while first year
Claire Smith netted her first collegiate goal in the win.
Rhodes' offense made 38 shots in the game compared to Berry's five. The Lynx held a 16-12 draw control advantage and the Rhodes defense pressured Berry into 38 turnovers.
The Lynx close out the regular season on Saturday, April 17 with an 11 a.m. game at Hendrix College.
